Liu Youju was born in 1955 in Jiexi, Guangdong Province.
Honorary Academician of the Italian Institute of Art, founder of Illusionist painting, one of the four members of the Club of European Renaissance Masters of the Italian Institute of Art, founder of the International Art Salon, member of the French World Color Center Association.
He has been invited to hold personal exhibitions in international art halls such as the Nixon Museum in the United States, the Louvre in France, the British Museum in the United Kingdom, the Italian Academy of Arts, and the Center Pompidou in France. He is the first Chinese artist to hold a solo exhibition at the Pompidou, and the first Chinese artist to hold a workshop on his works at the European Renaissance Masters Club of the Italian Academy of Arts. Many of his works are collected by important international art museums.
It is recognized as a single force to bring the Oriental contemporary painting art into the highest art palace in the West.

From July 15, 2024 to August 15 , 2024 , Liu Youju's solo painting exhibition "Starting from the Meta Point" will be held at Palazzo Dona dalle Rose, the official exhibition hall of the Venice Biennale, Italy.

From April 20 to November 24 , 2024 , Liu Youju's works “Mars Project” will be selected for the 60th Venice Biennale and will be exhibited at Palazzo Dona dalle Rose, the official pavilion of the Venice Biennale.

In July 2016, Liu Youju's painting exhibition was held in Palais Médicis-Riccard i, Florence.And his works such as "Autumn Scenery" were respectively collected by important academic institutions such as Academy of the Arts of Drawing, Milan Brera Academy of Fine Arts, and Palais Medici.

In June 2016, invited by Academy of the Arts of Drawing, "Demolition VS Construction——Liu Youju Painting Exhibition" was held at Academy of the Arts of Drawing, where he gave an academic lecture on "Critique of Regionalism".

In October 2015, invited by the British Parliament and sponsored by the British Parliament and the British Museum Committee, the "Classical and Contemporary Fusion——Liu Youju Painting Exhibition" was grandly held at the British Museum. His works "Crossing the Millennium" and "Universe Cultivation" were collected permanently by the British Parliament and the British Museum.

In March 2015, Mr. Liu's solo exhibition was held at Today Art Museum in Beijing.

In November 2014, Liu Youju's painting exhibition was held at the Nixon Museum in the United States. His work "Christmas Impressions" was collected by the Nixon Museum in the United States and was awarded a collection certificate. The U.S. Congress issued the "Sino-U.S. Cultural Exchange Outstanding Contribution Award" certificate to Mr. Liu Youju.
